Healthy Diets

We are committed to educating and encouraging our children to eat a balanBoardced and varied diet. We believe that giving them healthy options from the start will encourage them to choose healthy options later on.

We provide a wide variety of new and familiar tastes. Our menus offer our children the chance to experience food from different cultures.

All of our food is prepared and cooked daily in our modern kitchen by our two cooks. We have a 5 star Food Hygiene Rating, the top award given out by the Government's Food Standards Agency. Our menu has a Kent Heartbeat award achieved because of the variety and promotion of healthy eating. Our menus are devised in conjunction with Gaynor Bussell, a dietary scientist who advises us on nutrition. We welcome parent's input and suggestions and hold regular food forum meetings which are open to parents, where we review the menus.Sherrel and veg

Fresh drinking water and milk are available to all the children throughout the day.  The older children are encouraged to help themselves and the staff assist the younger ones.

Anna and cakesAt your child's settling in visit. we will find out if your child has any dietary needs. Our preference charts in all areas, coloured plate system and individual child's place mats ensure your child's diets are correct.

We offer a 6 day rotation allowing all children the opportunity of tasting different meals ie vegetarian, fish, beef, lamb, pork, poultry and giving our two cooks the opportunity to serve a varied menu.

A menu board in our hallway is updated daily to show that day's menu
